Dear Parishioners,
Jesus Christ is risen, as He said! ALLELUIA! It is with great joy that I write to you this Easter! As I hope you are aware, we recently began our capital campaign to build our new church. In a very short time frame, cheerful giving has become contagious. Since our campaign pledge weekend just three short weeks ago, over $2 million has been pledged. We are well on our way toward our goal. If everyone who attends Easter Mass and is reading this bulletin responds, our new church will be underway even sooner than we think.
I am overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and positivity. We have asked for cheerful givers and God has sent them to us. As you know by now, this project will bring our three communities together to pray in one location. Our new church will accommodate the large crowds and be a paradigm for the Archdiocese of Boston for centuries. We are blessed to have so many want to be a part of this historic endeavor.
In the joy of this Easter season, I am again asking that every family pray about how they can participate in the campaign. If every family gave at a level of $40 a week for 5 years, the grand total would be over $70 million. Even a gift of $20 a week from each family would raise well over $30 million. In other words, our goal is very attainable with full participation. It may sound trite, but please think of how easily we spend $20 on trivial things each week and then consider the importance and permanence of our new church.
Thank you again for what you have already done and what I hope many will do. The joy of our parish is always present, but in the Easter season it becomes even more evident. This Easter season is filled with a joyful hope that will change our community for generations. I wish you a happy Easter and ask that God’s blessing be upon you and your family.
Sincerely yours in the Risen Christ,
Fr. Chris and the staff of Our Lady of the Angels
